Simple Southern Snack

I am a SOUTHERN GIRL. I was born and have been raised my entire life in the South. One of the snacks I really enjoy this time of the year, is also known as the OFFICIAL SNACK FOOD OF SOUTH CAROLINA. It is BOILED PEANUTS!

A finished pot full of boiled peanuts.
Aren't these beautiful?
My mom and I, and sometimes my dad, but never my brothers,
love boiled peanuts.
SOUTHERN BOILED PEANUTS
You need:
PRESSURE COOKER
GREEN PEANUTS
(we used a little more than 4lbs of peanuts
in a 6qt pressure cooker)
1 cup of salt
enough water to cover the peanuts.
Let the peanuts soak for 30 to 45 minutes in the salt water.
Then turn the stove on HIGH.
Wait to hear the noise of the pressure cooker.
Reduce the heat to medium.
Cook for 30 minutes.
Wait for the pot to release the handle.
Grab your mom, and EAT!
We are very happy Publix has green peanuts in their produce section right now.
Psalm 119:2
Blessed are they that keep his testimonies,
and that seek him with the whole heart.

Aimee, this really isn't fair. Your food looks tooooooo good, now I'm hungry. : ) For me cooking blogs are addicting. : / Cooking the food on them is even a worse addiction. : )

I'm a northern girl, but boiled peanuts sound really, really good! I'll have to try it!

I love your theme verse. Too fun. What is the dish in your header. It looks like apples maybe?

Looking forwards to more recipes!
